Setting Ringer Volume on the A55

Last Updated: Jun 12, 2017 07:34PM CDT
The telephone has 2 ringers, one in the base and one in the handset.  The base ringer has different volume settings, the handset ringer is either on or off. The instructions for how to adjust each ringer are found below.

Adjusting the Base Ringer Volume:
  1. Take the handset out of the base and turn the base over.
  2. There is a switch on the underside of the base that can be moved to raise or lower the ringer.
  3. There are small squares above the switch to indicate loudness.  The larger the square, the louder the volume.
  4. Move the switch to the desired ring level to set the ring volume.
Turning the Handset Ringer On and Off
  1. Tap the SEL key on the left side next to the earpiece.
  2. Tap the 3 key.
  3. You will see Ring On.  Tap the bottom of the toggle switch under the Caller ID screen to change it to Ring Off.
  4. Tap the SEL key again. You should hear 2 confirmation beeps.
  5. The handset will no longer ring.  Please be aware of this if you are taking the handset far from the base because you may not know when you receive a phone call.
