Thank you for contacting ClearSounds with your question about your A600 amplified cordless telephone. We have listed some reasons you may not be hearing the dial tone and possible solutions below.
1. Check the speakerphone function. You can do this by tapping the green Talk button twice. If the speakerphone works, there may be something wrong with the earpiece speaker and the phone should be sent in for service.
2. If the speakerphone does not work, make sure the screen does not say ‘searching’ or ‘unregistered’. If it says ‘searching’, make sure the base is plugged into an active electrical outlet. If it says ‘unregistered’, the handset will need to be re-registered to the base. If it has a HS number showing on the screen, move to step 3.
3. Check the phone line connection and make sure the phone is plugged into a working phone jack. If possible, try plugging the phone into a different phone jack. If you have a cell phone, call the house number and see if it rings. If it does, you should be able to answer it. If it doesn’t, the phone has no connection to the line and the phone should be sent in for service.
4. What do people say happens when they call the number associated with the phone? If people say the line is busy, the phone holds the line open and the phone should be sent in for service.
