CSC500 Static on the Line

Last Updated: Jun 26, 2017 12:03PM CDT
The CSC500 telephone is built on an analog platform.  Sometimes an analog telephone can have sound issues when it is used on one of the newer digital type phone lines that are commonly provided by companies that bundle phone, internet and cable in their packages.  These digital services also send data via their lines, and this data can transmit as static on a phone call.

Here are a couple of suggestions to try and alleviate static on the line:
  1.  Do you have DSL? If so, you probably need an extra filter or need to move the phone away from the computer.
  2.  Does your phone have a direct connection to the phone jack?  Remove any ringers, faxes, and splitters and see if that helps.
If these suggestions do not help, or if you hear nothing but static on the line, then the phone may need to be replaced.
